The error-checking keys are furnished with each of the
downloaded programs for the above three Rowe textbooks.
The installation of the software automatically loads all
the error-checking keys for all three textbooks.
There are four (4) programs that work with Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.
There are two (2) programs that work with WordPerfect 8 and WordPerfect 9.
There is one (1) program: MICRO-ErrorChecker 2002

Free error-checking software available for download. Free professional error-checking
software and keys specifically designed for use with Rowe keyboarding and typing books are
available for download at the bottom of this page. For instructors, this means no more hands-on
proofreading and grading of assignments.
How error-checking software works. Through a special arrangement between the H. M.
Rowe
Company and S. E. Warner Software, error-checking is now available for use with Rowe
keyboarding and typing books. Once the student completes an exercise, the software
automatically
checks for errors in spelling, punctuation, between-word spacing, run-together
words, skipped
words, margins, capitalization, indents, and more. The software calculates
gross words per minute,
an error count, and words per minute and places them in a permanent
student record where they
can be managed by the instructor with the tools provided for them
in the software.
How to download the free error-checking software. The downloadable files are in
self-extracting zip format for ease of use. To download a file, simply click the product
name below.
A dialog box will appear asking whether you want to open the files immediately
or store them
somewhere on your computer. We recommend that you choose the Save this program
to disk
option. Be sure to note the destination directory, and then click OK to download.
Locate the
downloaded file on your hard drive after the data has been transferred, then click
on the file icon.
Another dialog box will appear. Click the Unzip button to install the
files in the default location
(C:/The H. M. Rowe Company) or to another location that you
designate.
How to install the free error-checking software. Locate the unzipped files on your
hard drive,
and double-click the application file named Setup. The Setup dialog box will
appear. Once you
have read each box thoroughly, click the Next button to advance. Be
careful to note where you are
installing the files. Once you have completed choosing your
setup options, click the Install button.
A Readme file is automatically displayed following
a successful installation. IMPORTANT. Be
sure to print these instructions as you will need
them in order to use the program for the very first
time. Once the program and the keys
have been installed, the files you originally downloaded are no
longer necessary. You may
erase them from the hard drive.

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:
1. Create a new temporary folder on your workstation in which to download this software
package.
2. This download file is a self-extracting file. Once it has been downloaded, double-click on the
downloaded file in the temporary folder. Browse back to the newly created temporary folder
and extract the files.
3. Double clicking on the extracted "setup.exe" file will begin the installation process for the
downloaded program. Be sure to follow the directions on the installation screens.
CREATING AN AUTORUN INSTALLATION CD: Create an Installation CD using the 7
extracted items. Once the new CD has been created and whenever it is inserted into a CD
drive, it will automatically run the Install program.
